Offering empowerment and HOPE for the elimination of poverty

The “hope” in HOPE Canada stands for Humanitarian Organization for Poverty Elimination, and that name says it all. We are a federally chartered charity that truly believes in providing hope to those in poverty, those who may have no other source of hope in their lives. Of course the first priority is to help provide life’s basic necessities,but we believe lasting hope arises when people are able to become autonomous,self-sufficient. That’s why we also create programs that provide education and training, and other opportunities for those in poverty to improve and control their own lives.

HOPE Canada was granted a federal charter by the government of Canada in 2004. Since then, we have concentrated our work on children in poverty, gradually and carefully expanding our plans so we can help children, families, and communities all become self-sufficient and independent. And we provide an avenue for those who are more fortunate to partner with us in giving help to those who have less.

HOPE Canada operates on the basis of certain core values: integrity and trust,compassion and unity, cultural sensitivity, economic and environmental sustainability,and social justice for all. We believe in eliminating poverty in ways that will ensure people’s well-being in the context of the well-being of the planet. Every thing and every person on earth are interconnected.

We are so committed to our core values, in fact, that HOPE Canada is run on an entirely volunteer basis, so that every donated dollar goes directly to the programs that help people in need..
